HOW TO MAKE A CHICKEN NESTING BOX IN LESS THAN ONE HOUR
Many of us bought chicks this spring. Those who bought chicks in March need chicken nesting boxes, now. This is how to DIY your chicken nesting boxes today.
You need to have chicken nesting boxes in a place your hens feel safe and comfortable laying their eggs, when they start laying, or they will lay them in undesirable places. Free range hens will lay eggs where you can’t reach them if you don’t have a chicken nesting box for them to use.
My nesting boxes are also easy to clean.

Banding Chicken Legs
Our chickens are eight weeks old and their legs big enough to band their legs. The bands stayed on the chickens legs, with out falling off.
Two people made banding the chicken's legs easy. Catching chickens that had not been banded yet was our challenge. Daisy as always was their to help move the chickens towards me, so I was able to catch and band all the chickens. Catching the shyest bird was the most difficult, and since she got the purple band, I named her Shy Violet.
